The CHT Credential
Recognized by many health care professions as a benchmark for excellence in the advanced practice of upper extremity rehabilitation. The credential is awarded to an Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist who has a minimum of five years clinical experience, including 4,000 hours of direct hand therapy. In addition, the CHT has successfully passed a comprehensive test of advanced clinical skills and theory in upper extremity treatment. Due to advancements in the profession, every CHT is required to demonstrate continued professional development by recertifying every five years.
